Made an injector break out box last summer. One cool tool.. So i made one as seen here. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...with-pics.html

Got tired of laying on my stomach trying to get the little volt meter prongs inside of the Valve Cover Harness plug to measure Ohms. Tough to see and tough to make sure your on those little tabs.

Radio shack job box
Connectors found here on Chris's post #3 (thanks man) https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/823898-new-tool.html
I just need a gator to clip to battery (-) battery post(for GP). I will pick up a gator clip tomorrow.

Set the tool on the deck, snap in connectors, and attach ground. Everything is at your finger tips, Or volt meter tips. Just touch brass screw heads. Not to pretty but not going to use it hardly. It is just fun to make tools. I will add a gator clip and stick the new tool in a box and bury in basement with the rest of the once in a lifetime use tools.... Tried it out tonight.. SWEET !!.....

You know, it would be fun to put LED's, or lights in there, in the middle of the circuit, allowing a simple test of the GP, or injector. IF the light comes on, the circuit is complete, if not, you know you have a replacement to do..

That is a great Job Dan!! Looks like it was fun to make.

Thanks All.. It was a fun tool. Gave me something to do while i am waiting for my muffler delete pipe to come in(besides drinking beer, Well maybe not.). I figured i better get 'r done before the weather gets better and the grass cutting begins. Next project is my 5 Gallon Bucket Shop Vac Trap. "5GBSVT"
I read about it on FTE. I forget the link. Bookmark at work.

Pat, Thought about the LED Jazz.. But didn't want to get more complicated than its worth. Probably never use it now that i have it. Wanted something simple to connect up because laying on the top of the motor, removing stuff and fussing with the volt meter wires was a pain in the back side. This makes it a 30 second test. Still need the ladder though to get up over the fender to plug in. Me short.

Wife is glad it is done. She can have her dinning room table back.. "can you please pick up your mess and pick up those wire clippings off the floor?"

Nice work! I would've never thought to make a tool like that. I'd be on my stomach bitching and moaning! Very nice!

If I ever make a break-out box, each wire will come into a banana jack, and go out from yet another banana jack.

They will be tied together by a short jumper wire loop with a banana plug at each end so that I can disable each circuit as well as measure voltages.

That way, I could simulate an "open" problem for each circuit, as well as measure current in each circuit individually.

I'd only make make it for one side, i.e. eight circuits and ground.

Hey Pop. What is a banana Jack?

The break out box disables injector circuts so maybe i am confused.. I thought about incorporating the break out box with the test points for the injectors.. But with the truck running those live testing points can hit you with high voltage(exposed). So decided not to do that.

Thanks, Tim.

Here's an example of the female banana "jack". There are corresponding "plugs" that fit into them.

And yes, you're right, it exposes high-voltage DC. You just have to be careful! Nothing is completely foolproof.

Google Images is our friend.

Google "banana jack" or "banana plug".

Hundreds of photos there showing what some other derivations look like, too.
