all FEs have 352 cast into them. the C7ME is the block part number. same as cast into every ford part ever made. although some mistakes are made, that casting number says what the part is.

Incorrect.

This is NOT the first time I've heard of a block that looked to be a 428 by casting numbers was NOT a 428 block.

This is exactly the reason that most of the time the only way to definitively tell what FE you have is to physically measure the bore and check the stroke.

A quick google shows quite a few people who have/had C7ME-A blocks that were 390 GT's originally.

while understanding that looking at the casting numbers won't tell me what engine I have exactly, I am trying to get an educated guess here please.

This is what I have on the passenger side of the block. C6AE 6015 H

Any guess as to what this might be? I haven't taken it apart and wasn't necessarily interested in doing so.

TIA,

Mark

Mark;

Our FE engines are over 40 years old. Most of them have been rebuilt, some many times. As you have been reading, the ONLY sure way to tell what you have is to take it apart and see. If you do not want to do that then just enjoy your engine and keep the oil changed. If it lasts over 300,000 miles, then you probably have a 360.

Mine has a reversed image 105 instead of the 352. :)

Just to stop any "second guessing" of my pickup's parts before it starts...
'75 F150 360FE T18 9inch, I special ordered it when I was 21 years old.

Besides having the engine overhauled by a friend of a friend and having the
frame straightened at a dealership, I've basically done all the work on it.

pps- Had already drilled out the drain plug holes and re-tapped them for 3/8"
pipe. The plugs are steel with a 7/16" square head, an impact (1/2"drive)
knuckle with a 7/16" 8-point-socket and 20" extension works about perfect.
Yeah, I got my block back. ;)
