OK, I have looked, I can not find an old school, rear window mounted gun rack to finish my red neck project truck. Does anyone know where I might get one? Also, my wife would like some sort of oh **** handle to hold on to when she is riding in the truck( guess she is tired of bouncing around ). The truck is a '88 F150 regular cab 4x4. Any ideas????
I think I know the type gun rack you are talking about and I haven't seen any for a long time. I recently bought a '90 f 150 and the PO had installed a gun rack that sticks to the rear window. Haven't looked real close at it but it appears to be some type of tape that holds it on the glass. The hooks where you hang the gun slide off of the base that is attached to the glass if you want to remove them. I pulled on one pretty hard and it felt solid. Wouldn't be scared to hang my gun on it. These are attached to the outer edges of the sliding center windows so if you don't have your gun hanging there the racks don't interfere with the window opening. I have been wanting to get an overhead gun rack for my truck. That type rack keeps guns up where the thieves can't see them so easy.
i went to gander mountain and they could order em for like $25. i never ordered it because i like the ones that hook on the back of the seat better, like around the base of the seat and around the head rests. mainly cuz its illegal to have a gun uncased around these parts and you can never tell whats behind the seat (from a cops p.o.v.) and you can still get 2 it quick if you need it. kinda like these 15019 - Classic Accessories - Timber Camo Seat Back Gun Rack For Most Vehicles | Tellico 4x4
they also have some that are ceiling mounted like these BSR-2 - Big Sky Racks - Gun Rack Double Mount Vertical or Horizontal | Tellico 4x4
i will look at gander's web site and see if i can find it again

Just check yard sales and estate sales, found a classic one for a whole buck at a garage sale..........Hint: Any yard sale that is at a house with RVs, boats, trucks, campers and an old Grand Dad running it, is a must stop for truck accessories.
