The rack arrived and I started assembly last night. I hope to finish tonight and I'll snap a few shots when it is done. I have a tandem kayak waiting to be picked up, so I'm anxious to get this installed...
I have been looking for a rack I can use with the Ford OEM hard trifold and would be very interested in your experience with the Rack. Please post some pics when you can and a review of your experience with the purchase, installation, and quality of the rack.
Okay... I got the rack installed and picked up my new kayak today. First let me start by saying the packing was first class all the way. Each piece was wrapped in plastic (even the male/female pieces that slip together to form the cross braces). It is nice to see a company who still cares about the product once it leaves their loading dock. The setup and installation was easy and straightforward. It did not take me very long at all. The pics are below, but it was raining as I finished and I took the pics from inside the garage.
This is a very sturdy rack and I recommend it for those who want a rack on their truck without losing the functionality of a bed cover.
Just finished a 3 hour drive to the beach with both kayaks strapped to the rack. Nothing moved at all and it was very stable. Can't wait to go out tomorrow. Taking the boy out into the ocean for the first time. He has only been on the bay with me up 'til now. I'll try to snap a pic of the kayaks loaded up. This is a very versatile rack. I brought home some 14' 2x6 lumber along with some 4x8 sheets of 3/4" plywood the other day. I'm not too keen on the 'look', but it is functional. I'll yank it off come fall when I am done kayaking, but until then I am finding all sorts of extra uses for it.
