Hey waves, I never gave the mud flaps a thought, but now that you mention it......! When I go to my bfg 265 X 75-16's, it will look stupid with mud flaps. I'm a redneck off/roader, not a yuppie. I went out and looked at the back of my truck, the mud flaps don't do anything to give it a rugged look, they look sort of sisseified. Thanks for that piece of advice. I forgot it even had mud flaps on it untill you mentioned it. I think if I would keep the mud flaps, I would get some curb feelers to go with it ha ha.
ZMAN7125, level II's are bad to the bone, but they don't make them anymore. The good part is, that you can still get all the level II options except for the alcola rims and bfg tires on the FX4's. I ordered my 09 FX4 in grabber orange with the torson lsd, rancho shocks, chrome shifter, skid plates, fog lights, leather seats and what have you. I like the looks of the FX4's rims better than the alcola's anyway. I allways go with the bigger bfg 265/75-16's, so that didn't hurt me either. The level II's had the stock bfg 31/10.50's, the 265/75's are 32" tall, so I still get my bigger bfg's with the better looking rims, worked out great for me. The new FX4's come with satalite radio and I love it. If you want a 4x4 ranger, the FX4 is the way to go, the torson lsd and rancho shocks makes for a great off/road ranger. It goes about anyplace my jeep will, but with more comfort. However, I can take the top off my jeep, plus jeeps are just cool, so it's still a keeper. I've allways had jeeps and rangers for a great off/road combo, gives me the best of both worlds.
So I decided without the bugshield and since mudflaps were a subject too, I evaluated the situation. I totally now what ya've been talking about. I removed them and much better now.........
Waves, how are the new programs working out for you? I need to get a programer for my 09. I'm not going to do as much to the engine on this one. I'm just gonna do an airaid quickfit intake, gibson dual sport and bama. The udp's on my 04 effected my AC output and the headers were a waste of time and money. Gonna go with the things that I know that works well without side effects. Are your torsion bar keys still holding up well?
So far I like them, got an 89 octane torque program that is making me happy I am not still buying 93 octane. I didn't have him adjust the shifting quite as hard as I had on the previous program/s - it still shift posative and not nearly as soft as stock.....that's about the only thing I might change. I towed the boat with it and it worked well. Nice to have everything I have done all tuned in the wayu I wanted....Douglas does fine work - as you well know.
i like the bug deflector, window vent shades, and mudflaps ON the truck. i think they help in function, and appearance. just my opinion. (i do know its an older post, but i still had to throw out my own comment/opinion.)
