Because Ford would actually like to MAKE money on their products. The total customer % who would take advantage of this is quite small in comparison... whereas the rebate would be for 100% of the customer base. Pretty simple economics. While I like a good deal just like the next guy, I'd also like to see Ford stick around a while.

I called them up today to ask about this, and the dealership told me this doesn't apply to me. =( even though I just bought the truck last week.

Ford can add that to their list of bold moves. It's a very strong offer. I too would rather see a stronger rebate program.

I agree. I think that them taking over payments for a year if you lose your job would help the unemployed more than 5,000.
