Don't remember the size of my stock tires, but I have a 94 F250, 460 4x4 E4OD 4.10:1 etc.
I haul a trailer that is 8,000 dry(So GCVW is about the same). RPM is normally a function of the gearing so I assume since we both have 4.10 and E4OD, that my RPM and your should be about the same... Weight only matters if the tranny slips or you down shift.
At about 60mph, I think I turn about 2,000 to 2,300 RPM while in OD on level ground. My truck does not hunt gears during normal freeway towing.
If I get into hills it will downshift usually to third and turn higher RPMs(Don't remember). In really steep hills it may drop down into second if I force it. In second it will get near 4,500RPM at around 40-50mph, if I recall correctly.
According to my caculations/tables 215/85-16 are 30.4" According to Randy's Ring & Pinion Web page caculation tables & my TAC, I run about 2750 @ 60 with about 10" of vaccumn on level ground. When I pull in OD, it doesn't hunt, but I have O" vaccumn. It pulls the best in OD up around 72MPH which is hard on gas and most speed limits.
Thanks for any input. Bob:-)
