Temp sens. sending unit.

Need to put a custom temp gauge on my '84 300. Where is the best place to put the sending unit?

Thanks. There wasn't one there when I got it so that's why I asked.

Must have been plugged? Otherwise your coolant would go bye-bye.

Dumb mechanic moments in history:

Just finished getting my bronco on the road for the first time (bought with a bad tranny). Noticed the oil gauge is working/not working so I figure I'll replace the switch. Take what I think is a good look and see what I think is the oil switch. Get under the truck and start wrenching the switch out. Figure there can't be that much oil in the gallery so I'm prepared to catch a few ounces of oil only. Switch almost out...........get ready to catch..........suddenly.........nice HOT slimy green bath! Oops. Wrong switch.

Not hot hot. But pretty dang warm.
