Temp sens. sending unit.

Need to put a custom temp gauge on my '84 300. Where is the best place to put the sending unit?

Where the original is...passenger side of the block near the rear.

Must have been plugged? Otherwise your coolant would go bye-bye.

Dumb mechanic moments in history:

Just finished getting my bronco on the road for the first time (bought with a bad tranny). Noticed the oil gauge is working/not working so I figure I'll replace the switch. Take what I think is a good look and see what I think is the oil switch. Get under the truck and start wrenching the switch out. Figure there can't be that much oil in the gallery so I'm prepared to catch a few ounces of oil only. Switch almost out...........get ready to catch..........suddenly.........nice HOT slimy green bath! Oops. Wrong switch.


Not hot hot. But pretty dang warm.
