Just hauled a load of brush to the land fill and noticed that I put a few small scratches on the side of my box. It is a 2004 F-150 with what I think is a basecoat/clearcoat paint. How can these small scratches be buffed out ? None of them are deep but I would like to polish them out .
Are the scratches deep enough your finger nail can feel them?
If they are that deep, they need some more serious work. For light scratches, stripping the wax and using a sealer/glazer can help a lot. Pretty much all newer vehicles are base/clear coat and they don't work like the old enamels. When you polish/buff the base/clear, your only working on the clear coat (hopefully). There are clear touchup paints you can try if you need to fill in scratches in the clear coat.
