Don't know much about these hopefully someone will chime in that does. I sure wish I had one too! All I know is that it would be nice to save a trip to the dealer/auto parts place to get it scanned.
IMHO I don't think any of the code scanners that can wipe out codes are worth the price. Which is why I'm planning on shelling out the extra dough for a tuner with that ability.
Tuners are a good option. Especially if you want more performance.
I like my ScanGaugeII. It reads and clears codes but also displays live data in a more convenient way than the one listed. Not sure if tuners will do that.
You gotta think how many times you're actually gonna need to read the codes. I would say that need is minimal but monitoring data, such as, tranny temps, intake air temps etc. etc. can be useful everyday.

Forgot about the ScanGuage2. I was actually looking into purchasing one before I optioned the tuner.
And if you need a scanner in the first place, the wifey can be told that you really REALLY need the $3-400 one to get the codes out of your TRUCK.
Worked for me! Course the wife knew I was going to drive the rig over a cliff if we didn't figure out what was wrong with it. I think she was afraid she might be in it when it went.
