this one is mine. i've always liked the regular cab pickup. never needed an extra cab, thought about a lift kit but think i'll just leave it stock except a lil bigger tires, the 235s are just to small and the treads carry little gravels in them.
Well it's a fine looking truck. I miss my RC but that's the way it goes with a growing family. Love the color and I like the '09 better since they did away with the little doors on the back.
Last set. I figured I'd show some of the things I have talked about in other threads. Camo seat covers (keeps the cloth nice), Husky mats trap the dirt and mud, Rhino liner and how they removed all the screws in the bed and tailgate before they sprayed (good or bad), step bars (easy to install, took about an hour) and last be not least my stickers (they show the world what I'm into). Chris
My tires are 255/75R17 BFG Mudders 6 ply but I could not get 10 ply in this tread unless I wanted to spent tons of money. At this time I am getting 14.8 MPGs according to the computer (have not hand calculated since there was a thread that consensus was that you could not get a much better reading than the electronics). The photos behind the seat show that I have installed an OEM tray at $97 from the dealer vs $150+ from aftermarket. I have 12" at the bottom and 10" at 24" height sort a funny triangle but you can get a load of stuff behind the seat. Plenty of room if you keep your housekeeping up. I have tried my hunting gear and guns plus what not and still a bit of room. If you saw the photo of my tool box, you can see it's a deep one. I don't have a lot of tools in there but plenty of extra space there also. I forgot there are two solid pockets in the rear pillars, which are handy for small stuff. Chris
Thanks for the behind the seats pics Chris. I was interested also. I have an 08 regular cab and bought it instead of a supercab bacause of the behind the seat storage room. Saved me a few thousand and the shorter wheelbase gives me a much better turning radius for around town.
I was really curious about how Ford handled giving up the rear door after having it. The local dealer does not have a regular cab right now, so I can't look at one. I wanted to know if they kept the same cabin size and went with a wider front door or did they cut some space?
I'm sure others in the forum know a lot more about this. I just have questions.
One other is how do you like the outside mirror design that is supposed to prevent the blind spot? Does it work well to let you see that area?
I think that your truck is fabulous-I especially like the engine you got with the regular cab and you chose the best options. The 09 front look is really tuff.
The closer they get to the Super Chief concept the better I like it. I love my 08, and plan to continue enjoying it until the day they make the Super Chief-then I'll be the first in line...
Thanks again for the pics.
Here is mine the day I bought it, all I've done so far is tint the windows.
nice truck, i'm not going to tint my windows, the cops around here can't seem to decide whats legal and whats ok, so i'll save myself a lot of trouble and leave em alone.
