I have stock Ford aluminum rims seems like every time I need to take the wheels off the rear ones are stuck hard it takes a good wrap or two with a sledge to free the wheel, I even have put a nice coat of never seize around the mating surface but still they get stuck,,,,,,,, Anyone else have this too?
All the time and like you only on the rears. I took a wire wheel and buffed all the crap off the surfaces and then put a light coat of grease and now I just have to kick the wheel a couple of times to get it off. First time ever (like three years ago) I ended up with a digging bar against a rag and smacking it with a sludge hammer and it still took a couple raps to get it off.
I had that problem w/ my stock wheels, but after I switched to my 35's w/ aftermarket wheels Ive never had the problem again but the hole for the rear hub is slightly bigger because it has the center caps that go in from the back and exposed lug nuts vs. stock.
how often do you pull the wheels? i have only had them get stuck if i go many months without pulling, mainly over the winter. just clean the center out and apply a small amount of antiseize to the hub and you wont have any issues
Yea. No problems here with silver antisieze.
Doesn't help much if the surface is rusty. So make sure ya clean it.
Probably would help to not over torque the lugs as well. Sounds like your rapping them on with the impact and not torquing them.
I dont Torque mine either, but I also dont hammer them on really hard with my impact wrench.
I go till they stop turnning then let her wack it a few times and pull it off.

I take the wheels off at least once every two years, doing brakes next week had the wheels off two years ago and put the silver anti sieze on sure hop it works, in the past I just did a film off grease on the hubs but it did not work.....
