DP tuner ???

First off I would like to say this site is great .I have been kind of lurking in the back ground for a few years and would like to thank all of you that take the time to write back and help people like myself that have questions. My name is T.J. and I HAVE A 2000 7.3 DIESEL ,I have done the 6637 mod 4in mbrp stainless exhaust down pipe back. I also have boost tran. and egt gauges. I am looking into the DP TUNER my question is the 120 and the 140 is there much of a difference. I am going to get the 80t the 80e and debating if I should get the 120 or the 140a or both .How much of a difference is there?? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

It's good to see you posting. I can't really say just yet about 120 and 140. Jody sent me the trials for both of these, I just haven't had the time to load them to my chip and try 'em out. You could get the F6 chip, then get trial tunes and just buy the ones you like.

Yes there is a difference. Get them both. Just think of the 140 as the blackout tune.....

Man, you have 16 choices, get them both and any others you may want. I have 6 and know of several more I want and wish I had gotten the first time. They will be coming soon....

get them both/ There is a little difference in the SOTP (Seat Of The Pants) gauge but there is a big difference in the amount of smoke they put out.

120 is a "race" setting, and 140 is a smoke setting. I just got my F5 reburned with both... my tranny doesn't like either one

Get both. My wife didn't like the get up and fly 140a, she prefers the 120r. If you could, load that chip up with as many as you can. I have 14 tunes, used half this last weekend.

I'd say both, but if you're on a budget, skip 120 and go for the 140... the smoke is amazing compared to the 120

Perhaps you guys can tell me if this is normal. I have a good solid stock tranny but when I have the do in my 80e setting or any or the performance settings my shifts get really weird under heavy acceleration. I do need to get either a wicked wheel or a new housing but I can't imagine that would affect the feeling of hard shirt under power. Any ideas?

Shifts get weird how? Since the re-burn I got about a week ago my trans control is much better. Truck is running weird now, but I don't think it's a DP Tuner issue. FWIW, I have a stock trans with the Banks Transcommand and Jody told me it would probably shift too hard but I'm super happy with it so far... the shifts are much more firm.

My chip is pretty much brand new so I am going to assume it has the latest and greatest of the tunes I have. truck isn't running weird persay but when you put your foot into it and really get on it the shifts feel like the sort of lurch and just shift rough. I really dont know how to describe it.

It sounds like a lot of people are having shifting problems with the dp so far??? Is this because they do not have a JW valve body or any upgrade to the tranny?? I need to hall my equpment around and I am not sur if I want to chance taking out my tranny just on the 80 t..My tranny shifts great as is . I just wanted a seat of the pant reaction sometimes then the trailer and equpment are not being pulled.

Does it do this in all tunes? Mine does something similar in 120 and 140 if I get on it hard, but does just fine in 80e. I'm not completely convinced I don't have some trans issues on my truck though... need to run it on AE and check things out.

i want to make sure it doesnt sound like i think it's a problem. DP is a great product and Jody and Diane have been excellent to work with. It seems to this in the more agressive settings only but is pretty much isolated to the sort of lurching when it's being driven somewhat aggressively.
