Hey everyone I'm just venting to you. Last week my ex was violated.Another vehicle ran into the passenger side just behind the front door.It was at a four way stop ( GA is full of them ) and I was half way through and BAM.The other driver said they did not see me.Come on how could you miss an "excursion" right in front of you.I think I would have seen it looking behind me.Anyway the " Beast " as I like to call my ex goes into the shop monday and with any luck I should have her back in two to three weeks. The other drivers insurance is covering and I get a rental car...just wish it was going to be another ex.Thanks for listening to the rant
We all feel for you. It sucks big getting into those fender benders.
Years ago I was almost thru an intersection on a green for me light, and WAM, got sideswiped and put into a 360 spin. Needless to say the car was toast. It hit me on drivers side at the rear axle. The only good thing from it was I was unhurt. Stolen car, old plates and the driver took off.

Easy to answer....... cell phone.
Some drivers wouldn't see a Boeing 747 making an emergency landing on a public highway while on a cell phone.
In the case of serious crashes involving an injury or fatality, the cops can check cell phones records and determine if drivers were in fact on a cell phone at the time.
Glad to hear you came out ok man. Maybe you can at least get a pickup from the rental place eh? I did that once even though it cost me $5 a day. I thought it was worth it.

A little off the main topic, but goes with this post.
A short while back Air Force One was in my city attempting to make an emergency landing. It was a training exercise to see if the landing could successfully be done if need be. They would come in over top of all the roadways planes usually cross in the their landing path. I'll bet it was a real eye opener for a few people who had never seen anything so large attempting to land here locally.Well, the ones who weren't on cell phones at least!
I understand they never actually landed. They would come in, touch down, and then power up real quick when they ran out of landing strip. I never did hear the results of the tests, whether they felt they could do a reasonably safe emergency landing or not.

When someone rear ended me in October, they were about to put me in an Explorer. When I told them how tall I was and what I did for a living, they got me into a very nice "Jack Bauer" Black Expedition EL.
