MAF conversion

This is kind of a spin off from my cam thread, is there a ford with the MAF set up that would work on an 88 with a 5.8? If so what is it and what parts would I need. I can splice wires, i am pretty good with a soldering iron, when working on my own stuff my time isnt that valuable to me so I do not mind if it is extra work. I can make the tubing, that wouldnt be that big of a deal, i just want my truck to work and work right, and if I can get it cheaper than the Ford conversion kit it will be worth the savings. Thanks

What tranny does your truck have?

If it's a C6 or manual get a mustang computer and MAF meter, and pull the MAF and injector wiring off the same or a truck and add it your your existing harness. You will need the wires all the way from the component connectors to the computer pins since the pins too are missing from your harness. There is very little soldering to be done besides some power and ground connections.

No, or at least not electronic fuel injection.

Does it have OD? If it does that means it has a computer controlled tranny and you would have to use a truck MAF computer.

Any 5.0 mustang from '89 and up will do, or a 5.0 Cougar or Lincoln coupe from the same years.

I'd suggest 89-93, personally, since there were several changes to the calibration strategy in 94.
