Truck Pull

How do you think that a 71 f250 with a souped up 360,ram clutch,np 435 tranny, dana 60 rear with detroit locker, dana 44 front, and 4:10 gears and 35 inch tires would pull at a truck pull at a fair. It will be pulling the same sled as the modified tractors? Thanks

Truck Pull

As you probably know, as the sled moves ahead, the weight is transfered from the sled's rear wheels to the front skid making it more difficult to pull the farther forward you go. I believe they use the same sled in all classes of tractors; however, they either modify the amount of transfered weight or change how rappidly the weight transferes to the skid.

Just remember that the truck's power will get the sled moving quickly while the drag is light and gain you momentium. Traction will keep you moving when the momentium is lost and the sled starts to dig-in.
