hey im looking at getting a 1979 bronco. is there any thing major i should look at when i go to look at it. i not a bronco owner and never owned one i didnt know if there is something i should look at on it befour i buy it.
Hope this helps. Just this past year I bought an 84 Bronco. Luckily, it hadn't been butchered up any. All electrical was operating, only had to replace the valve cover gaskets. Rust is a big issue with these vehicles. They seem to run forever with a little care. I have always had either Jeep Wagoneers or K5 Blazers. This is my first Bronco, so far so good. Try to find one that is as close to stock condition as possible. Unless you are mechanically inclined they can be expensive to repair. You can still find some that are being parted out and maybe if you're lucky a junk yard may still have one. Alot of the parts are interchangeable with the F-150
Look for ANY fluid leaks from the engine, front of t-case, axle pinion and end seals, rear brake cylinders. When you test drive it, see how the steering feels. Unless it's been well-taken care of, the steering will likely be sloppy and hard to hold on the road. if you want advice on a specific bronco, post a link to the ad or some info on it here. JSM84
just give it a thurough once over, and take it for a long enuff test drive to let it develop any little quirks it might have. Park it some where other than it was to check for leaks. lock in the hubs and test the 4 wheel drive part out, on both hard and loose surfaces.
i looked at it and i decided it wasnt worth it needs some front end work shakes reall bade when you jump on the brakes or go reall fast. plus the motor shakes reall bad and leaks every kind of fluid that it has. im actually gonna be looking for a 60s econoline van pickup.
