Part number question

Hey all. I've gone and got confused. I'm in need of some parking brake parts for my '56. I found someone with the parts, but they're off a '54.

Now, my first impression from the parts breakdown is that yes, they'll work. It says '53- '56. But, what do the D, Y, T, TH, and THZ mean? I think the parts will swap onto my truck regardless of the letters on the end, but I wanted to ask the experts.

Thanks!

Those letter designators are for specific trucks. For example a 1/2 ton F1 or F-100 is "C"

The rest are for larger truck models deliveries, COEs, School Busses, F7/8s (What ever they are in F-100 language).

So if you have a 1/2 ton pick-up, the part number has to have a "C" in those letters.

Your letter code for your 56 F-350 is "Y"

I figured it was something like that, just wasn't sure how it worked exactly. How would we figure out what letter code applies to a '54 F-350?
