Just bought my Fx4 had it all custom to my needs ....love it but now the tranny doesn't seem to shift the way it did I was in some water is there anyway water can get in there ???? is there problems with them? Also is there any way to turn off fully the tracking control I hate it when i turn it off @ the dash is still kicks in ....only 4200km on my truck ???
Yeah they are almost the exact same tranny that has been used in the expy for almost 2 years and they have been trouble free. I have heard that the tranny learns the way you drive and ajusts it's shift patterns to suit your driveing style. Im not sure i have noticed that or if it had just got smoother as it has run in. But i wouldnt have thought water could have good in there unless you covered the whole engine. What exactly is it doing?
Disconnect the battery for 10-15 minutes or so and see if starts shifting as it did before. Chances are the transmission controller learned your driving habits and adjusting the shifting accordingly
My transmission seems to have gotten smoother as time has gone on. Like mentioned above, it does change its strategy over time to match your driving habits. The only way I could see you getting water in it would be if it was submerged, in which case I would think you would have had to cross water so deep that it came into the cab.
As far as the t/c goes..... are you sure it really is kicking in when you hit the button, or are you just noticing that the light still flashes on the dash? When I had mine in snow I could hit the button, and if I floored it, it would spin like a SOB and probably would hit the rev limiter if I let it. I tried it more than once just to make sure since there seems to be several people that believe it can't be fully turned off. Mine certainly wasn't holding back anything. However, the t/c light on the dash still flashes, just like when the t/c is on. I think some people just see the light flashing and assume that it is still working.

First off, your still under warranty. You shouldn't be taking stuff apart or trying to fix this yourself. It's the dealer's responsibility.
It shouldn't be a water problem that tranny is sealed doesn't even have a dip stick unless h e had the whole truck under water
Are you saying there isn't even a vent in the case?
I've personally seen 3 Expedition transmissions fail after sucking in water through the vent. We were splashing through some mud holes but never "submerged" them.
