Hi ya'll
I'm new to the Ford truck life and i need help. I'm trying to replace the rag bushing in the stearing line on my 76 ranger that i just bought. i thought it would be easy, but my lack of know how is kicking my a$$. I have taken the two bolts out that hold it together but i cant get the two shafts separated enough to take them apart so i can knock out the guide bolts. I have loosened the pinch bolt and the bolts mounting it to the firewall and the clamp before the firewall but to no avail. I feel like if i pry on it any more I'm going to break it. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it enormously.
Thanks
Inside the truck, loosen or remove the two bolts that hold the steering column onto the bottom of the dash and pull the column out enough to give you the room you need. Change the rag joint then push the column back into place and bolt it back up.
thank you ohmyf150, i knew it would be something simple, i had every other bolt and nut off this thing and those were the two i missed. I appreciate your help.
