Well I finally got around to working on my door panels. The old trim was peeling back and I was tired of it. I got some aluminum diamond plate and made my own. I still need to get some bolts to secure it and cut out the window hole. I am hoping to get them finished up this weekend. Here is what I have so far!!
Alright, finally got to finish them up tonight. I noticed that the window crank area stuck out a little farther than the other spots. So nothing a little cutting with a dremel couldn't fix.
Next I went and bought some 1/2" long screws and got some washed about 1/2" across.
I decided to only put in 6 bolts on each panel. I marked the holes I wanted with a marker.
Once I drilled out the holes there was some excess material on the other side. I took a 1/2" drill bit and used that to cut it off and on the areas that the hole came out on a diamond it filed it down some for the screw to fit in.
And here is the final product. Nice and heavy!! I will get some pics of them on the door tomorrow.
