A week ago my middle son and I brought Joey's truck out of its usual winter spot and proceeded to remove the front sheetmetal and ultimately the engine. That is the first sign of spring at my place; getting the truck out to work on it. I am determined that this year is the year we get Joey's truck up and running and restore it for use in the business. It seems as though you can plan for just so long and then one has to take action. I worked on the hood during the winter and got that ready for paint and plan on getting fenders and remaining front sheetmetal ready while I have the engine work done. We discovered it is a lot easier to remove the engine with nothing around it, awsome. I have to wait for the donor vehicle to emerge from the snowbank before that engine can be gotten for its crank, flywheel, and balancer. I'm building a 410 for the truck and a nice C-6 tranny. Getting the fuel injection system installed will be a challenge as well.
Should have mentioned the activities as of late consist of sand bagging, helping the city fight the Red River, and trying to keep the business going. Flood season came early this year. March 10th I had five foot drifts between the house and garage and on the 24th we were fighting the river.
Hope all is well with you all.
Yep, I think you're right. Spring is comming.
We (denver) had one of those wild-*** spring storms today 18-20 inches. Those of us lucky enough to get home early just watched out the windows as the wind bllew it everywhere.
Good thing is should be moving out in a day or two and back in upper 50's by week-end.
And to think I spent last week-end building my sun-visor so I wouldn't get too much SUN in the cab!
PS--I should make note. I know it problably sounds like I'm whining here. Our storm was mostly just inconvenient. Not the devestating stuff you guys have been dealing with. Hope you're all OK...slim

Reason: clarity
Our prayers are with our northern friends threatened by all the flooding. We are getting more rain than I want with several warm days and then a flip flop to cooler days. Saw one snow in March in NC when I was a child, but don't get much of the white stuff here.
