my 10/22 loves cci mini mags. stay away from stingers though, in a 10/22 anyway, they are slightly larger than a regular 22lr case and will mess up whats known as a bentz chamber which is what the 10/22 has. I have heard they are ok in a bolt action 22. rimfirecentral.com is an excellent source of info on all kinds of 22s and 17hmr
It isn't a matter for being red or not. It happens to be a matter of saving my crop and not breaking my leg when I work in my trees.
well if theres a reason behind it thats fine by me... but just a video of a guy poping off groundhogs or what ever with a rifle... is a different story... my post was more of a joke then anything anyways...
The .17HM2 is based on the .22LR case.
The .17HMR is based on the .22WMR case.
I converted a 10/22 to the HM2, it's a great round out to about 200 but even a little wind will blow that little bullet off target. It's almost twice the velocity of a .22LR. I have found ammunition to be plentiful around here, shoots for about $0.13 a round.
Thanks for that information.
Just shows you how little time I have for shooting around here as I get older.
I have a cz 452 lux .22, I will give that a try next time I go to the farm.
Ive got the less deluxe version of the CZ,its called the the 452 special, its got a birch stock, and was presumably made to be used as a training rifle for military personnel,or so i was told. CZ makes excellent guns, and they are typically priced very well.
I wish I could find a cleaning kit that came with the cz rifle and the sling swivels too. I bought the rifle second hand from my boy for xmas. Those are the only things missing
Guns are always fun but explosive trump everytime!!! At the farm show a couple years ago there was a company that sells this little 6 foot long wand that bleeds a propane/oxygen mixture into the gopher hole for a couple seconds and when you flip the switch BOOM! No more gophers... I WANT ONE!!!
