'94 351w towing
I have a "94 F-150 w/351w. The truck has an automatic with the 3.08 axle. We pull a 24 foot travel trailer on weekends. the trailer weighs 5100 pounds empty and 6000 approx. loaded. It does O.K. in South Texas but what about the mountains as in Arkansas or Colorado ??? I suspect the easiest way to get more pulling power is to go to a lower axle... Any thoughts ???

Figure that your horsepower will decrease 6% for each 1000 ft elevation and when you try to climb a 10,000 ft pass, your 3.08 axle and lack of horsepower tells me it's questionable that it'll make it. Change the rear gears to 3.73 and the ol' truck will get the "Pepsi come alive".
