New to the forum....been reading it for several months...I really enjoy you guys! Anyway, I may have a problem with my 6 month old 2008,250 V10 CC 4x4 with around 9K miles...it seems to have developed a "slip" or "lag" when I take off from a dead stop...kinda feels like on "ice" for an instant...once it has moved it does not show any signs of slipping then...my first FORD pickup, and love it otherwise...any ideas before I bother the local dealer? thanks
You may have a drive-by-wire issue. Go to Page 3 of this thread to see some DIY solutions. If they don't work, take your truck to the dealership and have it repaired under warranty.
Jesus, he PAID for the warranty. Do not do anything as it may VOID the warranty. Just bring it into the dealer. Why perform maintenance when you can have someone else do it for free?

Did you go to the thread (Page 3) and read it? There is nothing in that thread that would void the warranty... and I don't appreciate your "Jesus" comment.
Thanks for your replies guys....I just kind of like to get some ideas before taking it to a dealer....I bought it in Missouri (hard to find V10), but live in far south Texas...don't like driving in to the dealer "cold turkey". No traction control and I'm guessing it is not a "fly by wire" problem....as lag was not a good word that describes the situation...it just feels like it "slips" just a tiny bit (maybe 3 inches if you can mental picture that)....again kind of like barely slipping of ice, then catching on dry pavement. I guess I'm a little **** about going to a dealer down here because last year I called all of them in a 75 mile area looking to buy a new V10 ....without any help...all they wanted to do was to come out after hours to buy my 2001 Chevy pickup. Thanks again...I'll try to let you all know the problem when I find out.
I know how you feel about taking your truck to a dealer. I would try this first.....turn your key to on but don't start the engine, rapidy depress the throttle and hold it to the floor, turn the key to off. If that dosn't fix it disconnect the battery for a minute and reconnect.

Is this for the drive by wire to relearn his driving?
I tried recalibrating the throttle by the key on and pressing accel. to floor, etc and also dis-connecting the battery cables for a few minutes...still has the same feel...I will be going back up to Missouri in a few weeks..I think I'll wait and have my selling dealer look at it....could be something like bad shocks that are allowing the body to settle down for an instant when starting out...yeah, I know..."TAKE IT TO THE DEALER"..thanks for your all's input and I'll post when I find out the problem.
