hi new here need some help

sorry for the double post i had this in the wrong section of the forum i did not realize there was a diesel section so anyways here we go. ok first off hello everyone.i just recived a 1994 f250 deisel pickup from a friend i think it has a 7.3 liter engine in it.thats the good now with what i need help with. i just replaced one of the two batteries i know i should replace both but the truck still wont hold a charge over night and i have to jump it. also when i turn the key on and the wait to start light goes off something under the hood just keeps clicking. i think its the glow plug relay but i dont know what it looks like or where to find it. so i was wondering if anyone could give me some guidance in this issue and how to test to see if my relay is bad or just what is clicking repeatidly under the hood and if it is normal thanks.

i think its better to replace both batterys at same time. batterys may not be your problem. befor you buy another one, charge them up and un hook both betterys over night and then hook them up in the am and see it will start. if it does then something in the truck is draining the batterys down

Glow plug relay is in the front center a little bit to the passenger side. The relay should only click once to get the juice going to the glow plugs. The clicking is probably because the batteries are bad or being drained by something else like mentioned above. The relay has some fairly big wires going to it and if I remember right a orangeish color.

Deffinitely replace both batteries together, never just one. Since they are connected together they act as one sible battery. The old one is most likely draining the new one. This will ruin your new battery.

Pull the old battery andn get it load checked. If its good then check to ensure that you have good connectins at the terminals.
You did not mention if the truck starts or turns over when its clicking.
Facing the engine from the radiator the GPr is located at 5 o clock from the fuel filter housing. Check the wiring connections. With the key off you should have voltage at both of the large post and the small one is to ground. But either the contacts are out or your low on juice.
Post a reply after the laod check and we can provide additional info if needed.
