Are you trying to separate the connector on top of the valve covers.. ? I forget exactly, but there must be a locking tab.. release that and it should pull apart..It been a couple of years since I pull the connectors apart..I do remember prying somewhat with a slotted screw driver.. Maybe spray it a little with WD40..

its a plastic C type clip..on the valve cover side of the plug ..use a screw drive and push down on the tap to squeeze the clip..at the same time push it though the plug twards the turbo..it should slide right though the plug..then you can pull the plug out...

This is the wire harness and the plug your trying to pull out.. Push down on the little wedge and push the plug towards the center of the motor.

nice pix Dan..mine is very differnt.. that clip you push down on is a locking clip on mine...you push down in the same spot..but the hole locking clip slides out of the big plug twards the center of the engine ..you take it right out..then you can pull the 9 pin plug out of the VC..

Really? My clips won't come out. The clips look like they will come out but don't. And i didn't want to brake somthing trying. Both sides are like that and my dads truck also are like mine. I wondered that because the new plugs i just bought don't have the lock Clips.
here is a close up of the plug without the center thingys (lock clips?)

I bought the connectors from the link Chris Posted a bit ago. Source Products, Inc. ~ Ford Repair Harnesses ~ Fuel System

Mine looks like Dan's... whats your build date Ron? From looking at the pics Dan has posted, I'm wondering if he and I haven't accidentally broken the connector on the valve cover gasket...

Hey Chase. Nothing broke off the Gasket. Just two little hoops.
http://www.source-products.com/publi...il/99-8612.jpg

I thought the same thing last month. Thought i broke something again.

Edit. Might seem like we hijacked. But all the pictures are probably helping 19stroker99 .. Get a feel for what the plug looks like.

Sorry for the semi-jack..
I just went out and messed with mine. Pass side is tight, driver's side pops out with a light tug. I wonder if this might explain my rough running and weird behavior lately (the truck is running rough and behaving weird, not me )

Could be. And don't worry Chase. When you said "lately" we knew you were referring to the truck when talking about acting weird.
