I've got a 99 250 with "the window leak" that ruined my fuse board and got that figured out and replace thanks to everyone, but I cant seem to find where the leak is with a garden hose and this truck stays outside does anyone have any info on where this is located at usally and what to caulk it with?
It's supposed to be by the windshield, but who knows, do you have the running lights on your cab, check there if you do, my son's truck has a leak from a rust hole by his running lights.
Well until you find the leak I would look to see if I could protect it somehow from getting wet. I thought I read where the windshield has to come out and get resealed but I'm sure somebody else will chime in that knows more.

You actually hit it right. Go by a windshield shop and have them remove and reinstall the windshield with new sealant. Use a reputable shop tho so you know the job will get done right.
I had it in my 00 Scurge. I had a new windshield installed and the installer came to tell me that they would not guarantee the seal on it. I asked why and he said the whole top windshield line was rotted out. I told him to go ahead and do the best he could. I ended up having a body shop fill it and replace the windshield a year later when the fuse panel finally shorted out.
You can usually push up gently from the inside to find the area that is leaking. With the moulding already attached to the glass when it is installed it is hard to find the leaks with the old fashioned way, soapy water outside, compressed air blown from the inside.
Like others have said it is best to take to a good glass shop and have them replace it, they should also warranty any work that they do.
I am a glass installer, and before we install one of these, we always run a small bead of sealant around the inside of the glass where the moulding sits to help prevent such things as leaks.
