My hubby and I are all set to put a 2 inch level kit on my truck. After that, it's time for new tires, and that is where I am stuck.
I like the way the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A® KO (LT305/65R18/E)
looks on a truck because they fill in the wheel well nicely.
An added benefit is that they will fit on my stock rims which I can't afford to upgrade at this time.
The above BFG tire is the only tire I can find in the size I listed above.
Since it is an 'E' rated tire, I am concerned about how it will effect the ride quality in my truck.
So my big questions are:
1. Does anyone have this tire on their truck in a 305/65R18?
a) If yes, do you like it?
b) How does it effect the way your truck rides?
2. Does anyone have or know about another tire that will fit on stock rims
AND fill out the wheel well nicely?
A 10 ply (E) tire is used primarily to haul heavy loads or pull. The sidewalls are VERY stiff and WILL affect your ride quality quite a bit. I get calls often from people who have put 10 ply tires on just for the looks only to turn around and remove them weeks later because they cannot handle the ride. "Kidney belt" and "fillings" are words often used in those conversations.....
Some say it can be combatted by lowering air pressure and it may, but not to the level of a standard load tire.
