I have a 289 out of a '66 Mustang. Had to buy a new harmonic balancer for it and a new flexplate as well. This is for an automatic tranny.
So I bought the 28 oz. equipment but before I install the flexplate I was wondering, do I need to align the balancer and flexplate in any particular relationship so that the balance is not off?
If I have #1 cylinder at TDC then the weighted part of the balancer is at 6 o'clock.
What position do I put the weighted part of the flexplate?
