How long have you had your truck and how cold was it last night. I notice that when its cooled the glow plugs stay on longer, but once they turn off everything gets brighter. I think you would have noticed some performance differences if you had a bad alt as the 7.3 is extremely dependent on good power. If there is someone around you with AE, I would have them scan for codes, when one of my alts went out I had a error code loges in the PCM. You might want to have your batteries tested, and check the cables for good connection. I would also check the wires from the alt too to make sure there is no shorts in it.
ok 2 new battery's in today and havent had a problem yet i think i'm going to check where the battery grounds to the block and clean that but i think i defintly should have got more than 5months out of a set of 850CCA battery's..why could they have died soo soon?
they shouldnt have dies so soon. But our engine relies on alot of power when powering the glow plugs and trying to start the vehicle. check all the connections along with the ground
ok you lost me there bud, i'm still a greenhorn at this stuff yet i'm use to the ole 351W...where's this at i cleaned both side's wheres the grounding strap located?? AC fan motor is that on the passenger side of the firewall??
