My brake and abs lights both came on out of the blue yesterday. I haven't had time to check anything yet but when i do what should i be checking for? Thanks.
DO NOT over analyze initially. I had a similar issue just last week and jumped to all kinds of conclusions only to find the most basic problem:
air in the rear brake lines.
Start by bleeding passenger rear wheel cylinder then drivers rear then RABS unit and see if the lights are still on.
Even if you "THINK" the rear brakes are operating correctly.
The "brake" light (signaling a brake failure or fault) will trigger the "ABS" light.
If lights remain on after bleeding, check for bad electrical connection at master cylinder and then check for any code with (R)ABS unit .
I will check the fluid when i get home today and will visually "inspect" everything. If that doesnt work I will bleed the brake lines this weekend while I have some other stuff to do. Thanks.
