transmission question

i have a 93 f150 302 eng auto transI thought i had an e40d trans but when changing filter tehy sent wrong one I discovered i had a eiod trans that i was told not available since 89. Is this a better or worse trans as i do tow heavy with it and could this be the reason i am not getting as good fuel milage as it should

Look on the drivers side door jam sticker (vin number, gvwr, tire pressure, etc. info) and post the trans letter. Once we know that we can tell you which transmission you have.

Are you 2wd or 4wd?

I have never heard of a eiod for your specific year. Only heard of an aod, e4od, and maybe(not likely) the aode-w/4r70w being used in a 93.

if you post a pic of the pan on the trans i'm sure we can identify it for you but i really doubt it's an eiod i've NEVER heard of that trans, did the filter for an eiod fit?
