we have done oil changes
but as for fuel filters we have only had that done twice.
i also left out that the gas milage has dropped to about 8mpg.
Change the fuel filters and see what happens.
Just a thought. When my truck did this my mileage dropped to 8 mpg driving and 4 mpg towing my 36' 5er. Up some hills I was lucky to go 45 mph. Finally I convinced ford there was a problem and it was the FICM.
I clean it myself. A can of spray Carb cleaner and a soft bristle brass brush is all you need. If you are carefull removing it you can reuse the O-rings. If not, Ford sells them for about $11.00. Takes about 10 mins. total.
did ford find that it was it was the FICM or did you find it.
im just wondering because im going to bring it in next monday and was wondering if they could diagnose the problem

Well, that explains it right there!!! You're gas mileage should be fuel or diesel mileage. Running gas in your 6.0L will definitely get it to have some weird towing quirks.
so we got the truck back tuesday and when we got there they said they mistaked our truck with another and they said our truck just had an air leak behind the crankcase. well we left on a trip the next day and it had a bit more power but still nothing like it used to.

Air leak behind the crankcase? Could you be a little more specific? That don't sound right. If they confused your truck with another, I'd find a different dealer.
The invoice says "slight air leak at rear of crankcase"
These are the parts they show putting in

as for switching dealers we already paid the $100 deductable and if they wont give it back we will just try to have them fix the problem again. (if anyone has any suggestions about where dealerships have good service departments in sothern california id like to hear)
oh ya and forgot to tell everyone that when we got it back there is some new noise coming from underneath the bed. it sounds like the left something on the exhaust loose.
how could the egr effect the truck not having as much power
I had low power, stiff shifts and could barley tow with my 04 f450 dump truck, cleaned egr that was stuck open a bit and it was like a new motor. Hope this helps.
