Today when the wife got home she went to the phone and here is what I heard "hello Mrs Smith this is Mrs brown and I have your son Johnny in my 3 period vocational tech elective class....Mrs Smith Johnny does not care. He told me so. He has been late to class 5 out of the last 5 days and when I asked him why he said he didnt care. He insults me and others and said it doesnt matter what he says to me. He doesnt care, He will not do his classwork. He will not be quiet. He will not stay in his seat. He will sit on the floor. He will crawl under the work table. He will lay on the floor on his back. He will lay on the floor on his stomack. He will grab several of the girls in the class. He says it doesnt matter if he does what he wants to in my class because he doesnt care. He has an F. He made 30 on his last test. MRs Smith I would appreciate any insight or ideas you may have that might help Johnny . I have no IDEA as to what may be wrong with him but I DO KNOW HE JUST DOESNT CARE. Please note his F will pull down his overall grade average but HE DOESNT CARE,, THANKS MRS BROWN,,,,,,,,
I remember kids like that in school. They just didn't care. Usually cause of problems at home or problems with drugs and alcohol. Its a shame really but what can you do, if they dont care how can anyone help them?
sounds like it's time for a good swift kick in the seat of the pants for a wake up call. Or maybe take him to a jail/prison and show him what his future holds if he keeps being a loser.
At first I was thinking that the call was about you but then read it again....whew
I am sorry that your son is struggling. Sometimes its just something small bothering kids that erupts like Vesuvius. You may try to do what I had to do when my oldest had a week of this kind of behavior. Go to school with him. Seriously sit in each class just as an observer. I did this everyday until my oldest finally got the point. I told her that if I got another call for disrespect or misbehavior I would be her classmate in curlers and a robe. On the serious side I would go an observe. Some schools have classroom cameras so parents and staff can view from the office and see first hand. It is better to see for yourself because often teachers will make it worse than it is because they are just fed up with kids in general.
Good luck my friend.
acting like that he will be infront of Home Depot looking for work....
find something that he does care about and use it as leverage it could be in a positive way, pay him if he gets his grades up, take way the tv if he doesnt....
This kid is 15 years old and still in the 7th grade. Today he told the teacher she was "crazy as hell" A meeting with the parent and principal will be held later this week. In my days a kid that did this was sent to the principal right then and most principals were men and trouble makers were quickly educated about "the fear of GOD" Polictics in public schools doesnt allow this now.
it almost sounds like it is not your kid and your wife is the teacher???? and if i were the teacher he wouldnt be in my class any more i would just send him the the office each time he did anything, it is not fair to the rest of the kids that do want to learn...

Yeah, ship boy's wife is a teacher. I'm sure he's not talking about his own kid. To me it sounds like teenagers raising kids or grandparents raising their childrens's kids. At this point, a whoop'in is probably too little, too late. Little Johnny is probably your next welfare cheat or serial killer. Depending on how ambitious he is.
