Okay, took my truck in to get the enligment done because the truck was pulling to the right. Get back in the truck it still is pulling to the right. When I step on the the brake it pulls to the right. Now before this, I have replaced the pads, the rotor and the bracket that allows the calpier to "float" and even the "floating" bolts that the braket attaches to. I also have replaced hub too! I have noticed that there is more brake dust on the passenger side rim compared to the driver side. Now I am aware of a little more wear due to the crowns on the road and so forth, but any thoughts on why the brake would be "dragging" again? I am planning on tearing it down this weekend. I the only thought I am leaning towards is the caliper's pistons not retracking when released. Anybody run into this problem? Oh, my truck has 165K on it.....
The pistons could be hanging up on you or a more common problem is the caliper slide pins freezing in their bores and not allowing the caliper to work. I see that you already R&R'ed the slide pins but you may want to give them another look.
^^^^That's what I used, found a bottle at the local parts store.
Also check to see if the boots got torn or popped loose from the caliper. That would allow gunk to get into the bores. Also, those caliper pins need to slide freely.
