Does anybody know of a way to bypass the PATS secutity when replacing the cluster without taking to a dealership on a 02 f-150??? I got a used cluster from a wrecker but the truck won't start when the "new" cluster is in it. I know there are legal issues because of the odometer but I am wondering if there is any way I can progam the secutity or whatever has to be done myself??
The PCM has a marrige with the PATS system.
The PATS must provide the missing data for the PCM to allow starting.
It is designed this way to be very hard to steal the vehichle by driving it away.
A dealer can program it back. Provide at least 2 original keys so the new code is set in the new keys as well.
Sorry there is no easy way, not meant to be.
If the truck from the junk yard had its PCM still intact and has the same options as your truck, swap it and use the keys from the junk truck then the your truck should start .

Make that your keys with the ID chips from the junk trucks keys in your keys.
