I am sure there are some others that ride on 2 wheels and I thought I should post this up.
Thought I would take a chance to cruise around town with my friend before leaving for Alaska. We had a wonderful dinner and then were just going to cruise downtown and then split off.
Guy in front of us stopped quickly and I stopped fast enough I felt the rear lighten up quite a bit. Check behind me and the person behind me stopped. Someone 2 cars back in a fancy little bimmer on her god damn mother****ing cell phone wasn't paying attention and caused this mess. Her airbags went off, the ranger she hit had airbags deployed, and the blazer behind me did all he could to stop and couldn't. Person in the blazer went to the hospital, and the people in ranger were banged up but given the clear to the EMS people.
When I checked on the lady if she was ok, she had no idea what had happened. She was dazed and sober but she fortunately has insurance.
Props to Atlanta area EMS/Fire/Police. I don't know if it was because they heard a motorcycle was involved, but they had 3 cops, 2 ambulances, 1 fire truck and a fire chief on site before I could even understand what happened.
I am fine and I even managed to stay on the ****er for the ride. I don't even know how to feel right now. If the lady in the bimmer had been behind us, I wouldn't be here typing and my friend probably wouldn't either.
I am sorry for the language but I am in one of those moods where life was put in question and I have to understand why I am still here.
Really sorry to hear that !! Glad you came out ok. Is that your GSXR?
Yeah I guess I should mention that. It is my bike. I don't think it will be totaled but I was in gear when I almost got mowed over so the trans may be in bad shape.
Sorry I didn't call you this weekend. I will call you tomorrow and get that invoice straight and paid up.

i am glad that you are ok. I know that every time i ride and every time that i stop at a stoplight in traffic i always look behind me and see if the person behind he is paying attention
Looks like mines twin... you have good taste, LOL. If you need parts for the tail section let me know I think I have some stuff.
Thanks Clay. I will let you know how it all turns out. I had hoped to bring the bike with my to Alaska, even if I only rode it a couple times a year but this may put that to a halt.

Yeah I did the same thing in this case. I had to stop quickly and looked behind me and the person had stopped. So had the person behind them. But the 3rd car must have never even hit the brakes, because she creamed the ranger into the blazer which then almost ran me over.
I am really surprised to see so many riders on this forum. Just makes it better.
I should also add that I installed a brake light flasher to increase the chances of people stopping and it has paid itself off more then once so far.
Glad you are okay, that look like it happened pretty quick. I ride as well and I know people just don't pay attention maybe the airbag in the face will wake her up. Sucks when your ride gets damaged but main thing is your okay and will get your bike fixed.
Glad to hear that you are alright you got to love all these people running around yabbering on there cell phones running everyone over. BUt its alot better then everyone TEXTING while driving now thats stupid.
Why would you go to a liter bike? They are useless.. I hated mine.. I'm 250lbs and I couldn't keep the front end down in corners on the track.. It's rediculous power and you never need it.. unless you have really good rear tire control in corners.. thats when you get rewarded.. otherwise stick with the 600... or be an F'n bad A$$ and sport an Aprilia RS 250!!
