help
I wrung off the bolt on my tensioner pulley and need to remove the tensioner assembly, however, there is a caution to check in the repair manuel before removing ( I assume because of the tension spring ) When I looked in the manuel, I did not see any dedicated information for the removal of the assembly. Any information would be appreciated ( I do not want to remove the bolt and have the spring disengage and cause personal injury ).

I would see if you can get something inside the spring to hold it compressed a little while you take it off... maybe a good heavy zip tie or a couple for that matter just tighten them down til they are good and tight where the spring is now, don't compress the spring with them... I use this method with light chains to hold springs from exploding when taking them off of cars... can't promise you anything but that's the only idea I have

But if you need help, you need to supply a little more information. At the very least the type of vehicle and engine. Perhaps state what the problem is......

sounds strange... what is wrong with the tensioner that you would need to take it off anyway??? if your going to replace the assembly just cut the spring with something... your truck specs may help as well though
