Missing fuel cap?
Went to fill up my 09 for the first time
WHERE IS THE FUEL CAP?
figured it out, there is no fuel cap! I don't like that!
can't water leak down there when it rains or snows?
Went to the Ford site can purchase a "Locking Fuel Plug" part# 8U5Z-9C268B
will that work keeping the water and snow out?

I love it.BTW... you need to make a gallery here to show off that truck. Not NEARLY enough regular cabs in the galleries! (and I might be in the market for an 09 Regular cab long box

well i dont think they would have went with a capless filler if the new it might leak. im sure they had it all figured out before it went on the trucks.

did'nt the dealer show you those things when you bought it? my dealer showed me the gas cappless thing and explained it, and where all the engine checkpoints were, and where the jack was, the spare lock, and anything else i needed to know. sounds like your dealer just sold the truck and sent you on your merry way.

ohhhh i see. The spare tire lock. I thought he ment spare lock as in a spare lock.

danger of dust
Hi all! I just purchased an '09 FX-4 yesterday. (my screen name is unrelated)
Anyway, some food for thought here... I am on construction sites a lot and I know from my old trucks that dust and all kinds of grime get in behind the fuel door. Anyone in a similar situation with a new F-150? I am worried that dust will sit on the gas valve and could end up entering the gas tank during a fill-up. I know there is a fuel filter and all, but it still worries me. Any insight on this? I am thinking a gas cap may be a good measure, but won't buy it needlessly. Its kind of nice to save a minute having to mess with a cap.
