busted driver's side door lock

I tried a search for this one but had no luck. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Two years ago, while on loan to a buddy of mine, someone broke into my '93 Bronco XLT through the driver's side door. Since then, putting the key in the cylinder to unlock the door doesn't do anything. Everything else regarding the lock works great: PDL switches lock & and unlock it, and opening the door from the inside locks it as well. I just can't use the key from the outside.

Can I plan on easy fix once I get the door panel off?

Thanks in advance.

Not to say you didnt look but, Does the key lock turn? There is a plastic white part on the back of the lock that holds a rod that goes down to the latch assembly, the fins break and the rod falls out so cannt unlock from outside. There isnt a listing anymore under Bronco but is list under cars in these years as to finding one for mine. You have to take that white part in so the dealer can match it as toget the right offset if it has one or not. 7 or 8 dollars thou. Its a pain to get to it and out but can be done. Be careful when taking the plastic part with wires off the end, the tabs are fragial (sp).

On my 80 Bronco, it was the "C" clip on the back of the lock that would come off, where it cliped onto was worn. When you open the door, there is a clip sticking into the door, it holds the outside lock in place. Pull the clipo and pull the lock out and see if it is still attached to the rods.
