Anyone see any problems here?

Have a 22' Tahoe Lite TT, weighs 2800# empty. Kind of a handful towing with '99 Exploder. Recently acquired an '88 F150 4x4 Lariat, fresh 351 (factory crate motor, not a rebuild), new rear axle, 3spd auto. Been awhile since I dealt with Fords...is that trans a C-6? (Data plate shows a tranny code of "K"). As for rear end, tag shows "S806D" and second line shows "308 88 7L02".(Data plate shows an axle code of "18"). Is that a 3.08 limited slip rear end? Anyone forsee any problems with this rig as a tow vehicle for my trailer? Thanks for the advice!

Here in beautiful Central Oregon:
'99 Exploder
'88 F150 4x4
'85 Ford Goldwing 1200 (ha! made ya look!):P

It's a 3.08 open rear, sorry I don't have tranny codes for an 88, but It's going to be either a C-6 or an FMX. That rig should do OK although you might want to look at stuffing a Trac-Lok in the rear end.

Anyone see any problems here?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 30-Oct-02 AT 11:23 PM (EST)]Thanks, Gary. What I was actually looking for was the code for the '88, which appears to be 3.08 axle...anyone see any problems with 3.08/stock 351 FI engine and maybe 4000# in trailer? This is 3spd auto, 4x4, standard cab. Will probably do some basic engine massaging (dual cat back exhaust, K&N, etc.) With a tranny code of "K", is that a C-6 or a FMX? Any way to tell just by looking at it? Is one better than the other? Thanks for the help!

Cold in beautiful Bend, OR 8 degrees!:-X12

Gary E K: do you have the door axle codes for a 1990 F-150 with a 3.73 limited slip?

Thanks.
