Thumbs up Edge Insight Advice

I just got the Edge Insight gauge display and the thing is really cool.

If anybody out there would be good enough to offer me advice as to what I should monitor I would appreciate it.

I can choose custom display and look at up to 6 conditions.

I plan on setting up

1. EGT
2. EGR temp.
3. Exhaust Back pressure
4. Load %
5. Diesel Torque
6. Transmission Temp.

If anybody has any experience with these things I would like to hear what you all think about it and give information on more specific things if you wish.

Thanks.

Did you buy the additional EGT probe? I look forward to others ideas too as I may want to buy one of these for my truck.

No need for the EGT probe on an '08 and up. It picks up three EGT sensors and also will give a general EGT reading so there are 4 available temperature readings on exhaust gasses. I frankly don't know which one to pick!

There is a default setting for Ford diesel trucks that displays an exhaust temperature. From what I have seen this must be the right temp to monitor. It is the highest EGT so it must be right. The default does show a torque converter slip but the Edge dosen't seem to read anything. I don't know why.
I have had gauges on a former truck but I much prefer the Edge Insight. Looks good and easy to read. I downloaded the edge programming software but I couldn't get it to see the Edge. The computer showed the Edge hooked up but the software didn't see it. However I did change settings around using the menu and controls on the Edge itself. I haven't contacted the manufacturer about this problem.
Oh and by the way I took my truck in for the customer satisfaction reprogram and they never said a word and evidently just unplugged the Edge reprogrammed and plugged it back in.

My computer did not see the unit at first either. I unplugged from the computer, quit/closed the program, restarted. Then I opened the Edge software and then plugged in the unit and it worked. It glows green when it is recognized.

I also run Apple computers at home and they do not work with the Edge. Manufacturer confirmed this when I sent them an email about it. PC only.

I made a screen of 6 digital displays, all four EGT temps, coolant temp., and engine load %. It's a pretty cool set up.

I am a little disappointed that we can't seem to get an EGR temp or a turbo temp. I was looking forward to those readings.

I agree on the torque, or lack of reading on it.

What does the number on the Regeneration status mean? Mine says "128.00" when I go into a regen cycle.

Mine says 128.00 on regen as well. I have no idea what it means either. BTW you can stop the flashing display during regen by hitting the menu button. I also changed the background color from that horrid blue to a green to match the dash.
I'll try the software issue again. Thanks, Kevin
