aux power switches?

There are four switches next to my integrated trailer brake controller, marked aux1, aux2,etc. What are they for? Anybody know?

They're called upfitter switches. If you were to install extra lights or other electrical components they can be wired to these switches, but they are not connected to anything at the factory.

With those you don't have to go and drill holes in the dash to add switches when you add components to the truck, nice feature to have

You also have four wires going through the fire wall and they come out on the drivers side up high under the hood. Mine were not connected. I had to connect them to the switches to make the hot under the dash.

Ya, like the genius who owned my truck before me. Four beautiful factory switches right there and someone decides to drill a hole and install an 89 cent toggle switch.

White, Blue, Red and Black. They come through near the brake booster. They don't necessarily have to do with the upfitter switches - just there to keep you from having to put a hole in the firewall to pass wires through.

On my truck the four wires through the firewall to the engine compartment were not connected. I had to connect them under the dash to the switches to make them hot when I turned on my switches. Here is a pic of where they come out.....

Agreed, but that's what I used them for

You should see 4 wires that come out of your wiring harness under the hood, just above your brake booster that are not hooked up to anything.

The other end of the wires is under your dash, just behind the fusebox.

They are called "pass-thru" wires and you can use them for whatever you want so that you dont have to run new wires through the firewall.

Edit- Wow you guys are fast, four replies posted before I got mine typed!!!
