Gauges
Quick question do our trucks have real gauges or do they work just like idiot lights? I never see the oil pressure needle move, or the volt meter needle. The only thing that moves is the temp gauge and the fuel gauge.

the stock gauges are pretty much worthless! the only ones that are worth a d*** are the speedo, tac, fuel gauge and the stock boost gauge is pretty acurate if you have one. the rest of them usually tell you something is wrong when it is too late. that is why the majority of the people go to aftermarket. the main ones everyone gets are Pyrometer, Tranny Temp and Boost Pressure. there are other ones and you can add quite a few if you put them in the right places. the two must haves though is tranny temp and EGT's(Pyrometer).

Thanks, it's what I thought. I was thinking of adding pyro, boost gauge, and fuel press. gauge. Since my trans is manual, I didn't think a trans temp gauge would be that useful. Other gauges I'm thinking are oil press. and oil temp and maybe a coolant temp even though the stock one seems to work.
Problem is dealer in town wanted $1,500 just for three gauges, so I have back pedaled a bit on this.

haha yeah you wouldn't need a trans temp gauge if you've got a manual. thats my bad i didn't ask!
yeah don't go buying them from the dealership. i got mine from dfuser, his were the cheapest i could find and his customer service is great!
