Question Fuel Light with rain drops???

I need some help. I just bought this truck and I am awaiting my owners manual. I have an 03 F-250 Powerstroke and occasionally I will have a light pop on that looks like a fuel light, but it has three drop looking things next to it. Anyone know what that light means? I would appricate the help!

You have to drain the water out of your fuel filter/pump on the frame rail under the driverside door.

Until you get your manual, here's a link to the Ford owner's manual site:

https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp

You can pull it up as a PDF file and print it out or just look at it online.

on the inside of the frame rail you'll see a pump that has a black cover on it that looks like a shorter version of the fuel filter and oil filter caps in the engine compartment. once you locate that on the bottom you'll see a round, about 1" in diameter, bolt that has a place for an Allen wrench. take that bolt out and let it drain until you don't see anymore water coming out of it.

go here and it has a great pic of what it looks like.

Page 29: Fuel Supply System

the bolt you are looking for is underneath the fuel heater cable in the picture.

Make sure you have on your best clothes in your closet when your draining the fuel filter they absorb diesel fuel better than cheap walmart specials

Personally I would be picking up a fuel filter set from Ford change the Fuel filters so you know they have been done. Cheaper to replace the filters than replacing all 8 injectors.

The worst fear would be pulling the old filter out and see its a non motorcraft/racor filter without the water bloc membrane.

I think I would have a pretty queasy stomach if I pulled the filter and seen that.
