Greetings

Hello fellow slick lovers. In Jan 2009, I decided that two things born in 1966 needed restoring: me and my truck. I'm starting the tear down process, and this site looks to be one of the best resources I've come across. Also bought a CD on ebay with the 4 volume 66 shop manual. Looking forward to becoming a part of the community.

This site has helped me immensely over the years...I hope you get out of it as much as I have :-)

This is a great resource. One of the many examples was when I asked, "In middle of the front spring, what is the size of that nut holding the spring cup down?" I knew it was larger than anything I currently owned. Within an hour someone chimed in with the correct answer. Tuning is something I'm not great at and will again be drawing on the site for knowledge in the near future.

Welcome! The only way it works is if you also share your thoughts and knowledge also.

Along with cs65, and mitch, welcome!! Wow, already in the disassemble stage, cool. If I may make couple suggestions, don't discard anything until a particular project is completed, occasionally find the replacement may not include a component, or need it for reference or templet. I went to a few online Ford part suppliers and ordered a free catalog. When shopping I either search online or their catalog, and then call to order, or confirm, the item is in stock, it's a pain in the backside if the projects on hold waiting for a part to arrive. Anyhow, enough for now, don't hesitate asking questions, and post pic's when yu can. Again, welcome!!

How are you going to restore yourself?
I and my truck are both '65 models, so I know where you are coming from. Welcome to this crazy world.

Welcome to the site which I think is great, I literally spend hours researching things for my slick. I haven't done any restoration projects in like 20 years or so and this place is great, it makes it so much easier when you are unsure. In fact because of the information on here it actually led me to do a frame swap from a 64 to a 75, and now I even take my laptop to the shop and when I have a question I just log in and search.

So enjoy and I will say you won't be disappointed, and if you want some good entertainment go over to engine forums and see some interesting threads of guys disagree on different motor issues, very funny.

Welcome to FTE

The 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com for around $23.00.

This CD version was scanned from the original paper version and has 4849 pages of text, 1961 pages of illustrations.

Since every part is illustrated, the parts catalog can also be used as an assembly/dis-assembly manual.

I use this same CD parts catalog here on FTE...every day.
