Tail light swap?

I was wondering if the '87 to '96 tail lights will fit on my '84. I have a busted lense, and all i can find are for the '87-'96 models. Will i need to get the whole assembly?

Keep in mind that although they may fit, there might be slight differences in the lenses with regards to backup light size and placement so you may have to replace both.

I got mine on e-bay, both for $25 + shipping. They're aftermarket, but look the same. the better difference is they are brighter red, and really light up at night. the company is called us autoparts network inc.

I have access to two sets of assemblies, 92 and 93 models i can probably get for free. I'm going to try and talk them out of the front clip too. They already said i could take what i need.

cool. make sure to cut off the flange on the newer truck that holds the bottom of the fenders to the cab, you'll need to weld it to your truck.

RockAuto have the correct replacement for about $16, but it's cataloged under 'Exterior Body', not 'Electrical'

Thanks for the info. I like the 87-96 lights a little better. They have a cleaner look.

Even cheaper - complete light $13!

I'm not trying to make a sale - just happen to have seen them listed

The cost of spares in the US never stops amazing me - we would probably have to pay around $250NZ through Ford here; they quoted me over $600 for a regular-cab carpet a year or so ago - needless to say, they lost a sale through mindless greed.
Having said that, Japanese parts are not much better

I know this thread hasn't been alive for a while.. but what about the Cargo Light over the bed? I found a smoked out led replacement but for the 90's.. I have an '86.. any chance it will work?
