Rear spring hanger removal

My brother in laws having a bitch of a time removing the bolt out of the rear spring shackle (the one inside the rubber grommet). We have air, but no torch. Is there an easy way to remove this? Truck is a '97 F250 PSD.

go and get yourself a BFH tool... line it up real good and swing hard, then get another bolt to put back in the new one... I know there isn't much room... should work though, or use a little propane torch... the bushing should start to melt then should come out pretty easy, you could probably heat it up enough with a heat gun too. You should have new bushings anyhow, so messing that one up shouldn't be a big deal. BFH= big f'n hammer

Just had to do one this winter on my '89. No torch either, and it was about 20 below when I was doing it. I put a pipe wrench on the back, jacked the rear of the truck up, and put it on stands. I then put a length of pipe on the ratchet handle, and with the extra leverage, was able to back the bolt out. It was a bear, though, hope it comes out easier for you.
